A few weeks back, I spent a sunny afternoon with the lovely Rachel Vanessa, photographing my stationery, and the results are stunning!
I've been a huge fan of Rachel's since I met her at my best friend's hen party. She's beautiful, strong and writes a killer blog! Her make-up style is flawless and she takes all her own product photos - one of which recently caught the eye of make-up icon Charlotte Tilbury.
A crucial part of any creative business, is having great pictures that really show the hard work you've put into the end product. Although I've tried photographing my own work before, I've never been able to capture it quite right. After seeing the fantastic photographs Rachel shares on her instagram, I knew she would do a much better job than me!

We met up, chez moi, on a very warm saturday afternoon. My living room quickly amassed a pile of dresses, ribbons, buttons and fabric and after a quick walk around the garden, I added a handful of fresh flowers and foliage to that pile. Rachel instantly got to work, positioning and photographing my stationery as if it were second nature. We both arranged and rearranged, added and took away embellishments and swapped in and out different fabrics and dresses until we were completely happy with the shots. After several hours, many breaks to cool down with a drink, and over 600 photos, we had a suite of stunning photographs.
A week later, Rachel had finished editing the pictures and I am so pleased with the results. Its so exciting seeing your work through someone else's eyes and having another perspective when trying to get good product shots is invaluable.
